We had a fun, if tiring, weekend at the dog shows. Friday we didn't have any of the dogs entered, but I did show Sophie, a Lhasa puppy for our friend MaryAnn. It was Sophie's first show, and she did very well. Saturday I showed RJ and Meg, RJ was WD, BoW, BoB and Best Puppy. Meg was WB and BoS. They each earned a point. RJ got to go to the puppy group and the regular group, he got a Group 1 in the puppy group! He showed well in the regular group, with all the "big dogs". Mr. Darcy was BoS, he had fun showing everyone how beautiful he is!
Sunday Meg and RJ reversed positions, and each earned 2 pts. Meg was best Bred by, so she got to show in the BBE group and was awarded a group 3. She showed well in the regular group, too. I was very proud of them both. It was good practice for the Specialty in San Bernardino this Friday.
Today, Mr. Darcy was shown, BoS again (his competition was a very pretty girl who was Best in Show on Friday and Sunday (haven't heard who won today).
I also showed Sophie again, and she has really improved over the 4 days. Amazing how quickly they get the "show bug".
More later.

A Bit Late!
My son Brian took these pics on New Year's Day. My husband, Creig, daughter, Katie and Brian have gone to the beach at sunrise on New Year's Day for quite a few years now. They have managed to convince others to go with them most years. Brian goes as the photographer, the others go to jump in the water to ring in the New Year. (I stay home in bed and wait for them to bring the donuts back)
This year Katie's boyfriend Kit joined them (his second year?) and Katie and Brian's friends, Cara and Jill were also in attendance. Brian always gets a good sunrise shot, but this year he also got the Blue Moon as it was setting. The water is usually warmer than the air, but they all say the worst part is walking on the cold sand!
They make cocoa when they get back here to drink with their donuts. A Dolge family tradition!

What's on Tap?
Nothing really new to report at Rincon.
We are going to be at the shows in Ventura this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The weatherman is saying (actually many weathermen and women are saying) that we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain starting sometime today all the way through to next Monday. Saturday and Sunday are the only days designated as partly cloudy with showers. Everything else is rain. We'll see. Our rings are indoors, but poor Oliver is doing Rally and Obedience and those rings are outside. There is one outside breed ring as well, but not for our group's breeds. A week from Friday is the SoCal Cardigan club specialty show, which is in San Bernardino. It's always a fun day, though it will be a small affair this year with only 40 entries!
