This is Electra last week practicing her long down, with two of her training buddies, Cooper and Tazer.
Nothing much to report here. This is a pic of Bebe and Electra, donning Halloween collars. Bebe is entered this coming Sat/Sun at the San Luis Obispo KC shows in breed and Beg. Nov. B. Darcy is entered Sat/Sun in breed and Sun in Beg. Nov. B. He has two Beg. Nov. B legs so just needs one for his BN title. Oliver and Gidget, with Amy, will be going with us to the SLOKC shows. Next shows will probably be one or two days in Costa Mesa the second week of December. Electra's sister, Amber, had her agility debut a couple of weeks ago, and earned several Novice legs. Way to go, Amber. Electra and Amber have new half-sibs in Florida, one or two may be heading this way to their new homes soon.

Titles Aplenty!

We had a fun weekend in Pomona, at the Pembroke Specialty and the Mission Circuit dog shows. Mr. Darcy is now Ch. Rincon Marauder's Map RN, he added his Rally Novice title on Monday, with three successful attempts. Gidget is now Highgrove Surf's Up at Rincon CD HT NA NAJ RA, she and Amy added 4 (yes, four) titles this weekend. First were her two agility titles, Novice Agility and Novice Jumpers. Then she earned her CD (nov. Obedience) and her RA (rally advanced) on Monday, with three successful attempts as well. Gidget is not even 18 months old! Oliver is working on his UDX, but didn't Q in Utility this weekend so no progress on that front, but he did have three successful Open obedience tries. I got to show Snow, a Parson Russell Terrier on Sun/Mon and we got the major on Sun. for 3 points, which was very fun. I'm so proud of all the Rincon dogs.
This pic was taken at our obedience class, Darcy and his cohorts practicing their long sit.

What a Weekend!

Mom and I spent the weekend watching Pems and Cardis herd sheep and geese at the annual Pembroke/Cardigan Herding Trials in Lake View Terrace. We picked up Amy, Oliver and Gidget on the way. Amy had Gidget entered at her first herding trial, and Oliver was entered in started geese and started sheep. Oliver (and Amy) made us very proud when he earned High in Trial both days with his sheep runs. He also earned a leg on geese both days as well as his Herding Started A course sheep title. (HSAs) Gidget earned her HT title, and had fun making the sheep move.

Cross Your Fingers and Toes!

We bred Decker on Saturday, to a dog named Ziggy so, fingers crossed, we'll have puppies on April 20th, or thereabouts! Ziggy is a brindle as well, and a handsome lad. This pic is Decker, looking not thrilled that I asked her to pose with a Christmas collar last year!

Oliver VC

Below is an email that I just received, from the PWCCA yahoo group. To say that Mom and I are proud of Amy and Oliver is an understatement!!! Each one of those titles represents a great deal of time and effort on both Amy and Oliver's parts. Oliver is a very fun dog, he truly loves Amy (and his chicken rewards), and it's such a joy to watch the two of them work together. We've seen them herding, doing agility, rally and obedience, and I know that Amy is not done yet. She and Oliver are going to the AKC agility Nationals in Reno at the end of March. At the beginning of March they'll be herding again, trying for the Herding Started title. And she finds time to train Oliver's sister, Gidget, as well, so I'm sure we'll be hearing fun things there in the future!!!

KUDOS!!

A New Champion!

Mom and I had a fun day on Friday at the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of SoCal Specialties. At the morning specialty, judged by breeder judge, Deborah Anthony, Bebe was Winners Bitch for a 4 pt. major to finish her championship. It was very exciting and we got a cute pillow to commemorate the event. I'll post her win pic when I get it, can't wait to see how it turned out.

A NEW TITLE!!!!

Here is our friend, Amy, with Oliver, who just earned his Utility title (UD) on Saturday, December 10th!!! Mom and I are so proud of this team. Amy, Mom and I went to the Shoreline show in Costa Mesa on Friday, and Oliver attempted to get his title there, but made a mistake so didn't qualify. Bebe, Gidget and Electra also went and strutted their stuff in the breed rings, Bebe was Reserve. which was fun. Amy and Oliver headed to Woodley Park on Saturday for the Hollywood Obedience Club trial and after earning his Open FAST title in agility, they had a successful turn in the Utility A class. And he earned first place in the class as well. Kudos to both Amy and Oliver for all the hard work it takes to earn a Utility Dog title!!!!!
I just got an email from Roberta who has three Rincon Cardis, Chloe has earned her AKC therapy dog title, another wonderful achievement!

Show Update

Mom and I went to dog shows this weekend in the City of Industry. San Gabriel Valley KC and Antelope Valley KC held their shows at the Industry Hills Equestrian Center. Amy joined us, with Oliver and Gidget. (you should have seen the car packed with 4 dogs and 3 people and all that is needed for two days of dog shows and a night in a La Quinta.) Decker was Best of Breed on Saturday and got the Select ribbon on Sunday, so she is a bit closer to her Grand Championship. Electra and Gidget both showed well, and Oliver had two almost successful attempts at his third leg of his Utility title.

Wedding Day!

Here are a couple of pix that my sis, Pam took at the weddding. Our Katie married Kit on Sept. 3rd. It was great fun. I made a 4 tiered cake, which was gone in about 15 minutes after it was cut!

Charlie/Brady Photo Op!

Here are the girls who came from Florida. Top to bottom, Electra, Piper, Connie and Belle. Electra will be staying here at Rincon, Piper is now living in Thousand Oaks, and may be seen in the show ring, which is fun. She has chickens and cats and a horse to get to know for now. Belle and Connie will be going to their new homes in Thousand Oaks and Pasadena later this week. We journeyed down to Long Beach yesterday, to go the the LBKC show and also to sort puppies. My extremely knowledgeable buddy, Barb helped me to sort the puppies, going over structure with each one. We had quite an audience of other Pembroke and Cardigan folks, and it made for a very fun afternoon. And to top it off, Bebe got another point towards her championship!

Pix of the Florida Girls

Here are the two Florida girls, who arrived in CA on Tuesday. Piper (side shot) and Electra are settling in, and they got to go up to Cate School on Sunday for fun on the soccer field. Their half sis Gidget, and half brother Oliver joined them which was fun.

Saturday Fun.

Here's a pic taken by Lissa, our obedience instructor, at Darcy's obedience class on Saturday. He really enjoys it. I also took Bebe for a class, her first. She was trying very hard to figure out what I wanted her to do, I could see the wheels turning in her head!

The Puppies Are Coming!

Two of Charlie's puppies are coming to CA on Tuesday. They'll be 11 weeks old. I'll decide which one to keep and then place the other one.
Can't wait to see them both, they look very cute from the pix that Anne sent.

A Big Win for Bebe!

Here is Bebe, (Rincon Beach Blanket Bingo) who won on Sunday in Pomona. She was Winners, Best of Winners and Best Opposite, for a 4 pt. major. She now has both her majors and needs only 6 singles to finish. Yay, Bebe. Our judge on Sunday is a Cardigan breeder, Deborah Anthony, so a nice win indeed.

Florida Puppies Are Here!

Charlie (Rincon Channel Isles Charlotte) had her puppies on Tuesday. She had 5 girls and 1 boy. Charlie was bred to Brady (Ch. Pinemeade Shine On RN) who is a tri, but all the puppies are red/white. I can't wait to see them in person. Brady is also Gidget's dad. Anne reports that all the puppies are gaining steadily and that Charlie is doing well, too.
Good job, Charlie!

Bakersfield Adventure

Mom and I (and our friend Kathy) took Bebe to the Kern Co. KC show on Sat. We also took Gidget (Highgrove Surf's Up at Rincon) along so she could participate in the match that evening. Kathy brought Speck (a 4 mos. old Parson puppy) and Wyatt, her 6 year old Parson boy. Bebe got our day off to a great start, going Best of Breed from the puppy class, which earned her a 3 pt major. We were thrilled to say the least. She showed very well in the group, and we were all very proud of her. Kathy showed Speck and I showed Gidget in the match, and they both showed well. Gidget couldn't understand why she wasn't allowed to stop and eat all the goodies that were on the floor, but she charmed everyone who saw her. I'll post Bebe's win pic when I get it, should be late this week.
