3 Months and Counting

The Tina Sparkle kids were 3 months old on Thursday, and 13 weeks old on Saturday. We took pictures today before Andrea arrived with her crew. From the top we have Clever Girl, RJ, (boy) Dark Man and Freckles (girl). They are all about 13 pounds, give or take a few ounces. My scale that I've used up til now isn't as effective any more as it's an old produce scale and the basket used to hold the item being weighed isn't really big enough anymore for the ever growing puppies. I have to switch to a less precise method, the laundry basket on top of my floor scale, which gets us in the ball park at best.

Puppapalooza!

Andrea brought the Salsa kids over today and many pictures were taken. Robert and Sue, proud new Cardigan owners, took their puppy home today. They chose Salsa's "Beanie" after getting to know them all this afternoon.
From the top, Salsa's kids are Diamond (girl), Eagle (boy), Diesel (boy), Beanie (girl), Seven (girl) and Morgan (girl).
Morgan is now here at Rincon, getting to know her cousins.

Up, Up and Away

Munchkin, now known as JavaBean, flew to Seattle (Auburn) WA yesterday on Alaska Cargo. Very nice folks at the desk, and she was flying with two other dogs, amazingly both Cardigans as well, and 4 baby goats. Her new people, Emily and Jeff, are quite smitten with her, and have already posted pics of her on Facebook and a short video on YouTube. I took this pic of her a couple of days ago. She traveled really well on Thursday, we drove up to Sacramento to breed our Pem, Freddie, and was good as gold all night in the motel. She's a charmer, that's for sure. She had an early morning flight (7 am) which was good as it was 95 in Sac. later that day. We watched puppy sweepstakes at the Pem Specialty, bred Freddie, and headed back home to cooler climes. Andrea is bringing the Salsa puppies over for a visit tomorrow which should be great fun.

Puppy pile!

I took this Tuesday night when Katie came over after work. They love to pile on whoever is willing to sit on the floor with them, chewing on arms, legs, socks, feet, and whatever else they can get their teeth on.

Congratulations, Violet!

Here is Miss Violet, a new Champion as of Saturday May 2nd!!! Officially she's Ch. Sunrock's VioletsareBlue by Rosewood.
Violet is Decker's buddy, she used to come and stay with Arrow and Decker each day while her mom, Kathy was at work. Everyone at Rincon is very proud.

In the yard

Here they are in their play yard, sitting in the shade because it's about 88 degrees. That was this morning, they couldn't go out this afternoon as the Santa Ana winds picked up and the temp rose to 95 degrees. There's a fire raging in Santa Barbara so it's also getting quite smoky.
They were 11 weeks old on Sat. and weighed from 11 pounds 2 ounces (R.J) to almost 9 pounds, (Munchkin).
